5 Foods For Healthy Hair

At the start of any New Year, it is common to set new wellness and lifestyle goals, especially when it comes to nutrition and healthy eating. Of course, revamping one's eating habits does not just transform our physical bodies and have an impact on our emotional health, healthy eating also provides numerous benefits for our beauty aesthetic. Broccoli: Broccoli is one of the most commonly thought of and enjoyed health foods everywhere, but it is also a particularly good source of sulfur. Sulfur is one of the key components of keratin (the specific protein from which our hair is largely made) and is crucial for helping make and preserve the elasticity of our hair and helping it hold its shape, texture, and body. Sulfur has also been shown to help extend the active growing period of hair before that growth will naturally become stagnant before shedding.
Bell Peppers: Regardless of which color you choose, bell peppers are excellent sources of Vitamin C. Vitamin C is not only a collagen producer, which encourages the formation of new and healthy hair and skin but it is also helps to carry oxygen to the scalp to facilitate more rapid hair growth and to encourage more lubrication of the scalp internally and helping calm conditions like dandruff and dry scalp.
Avocados: Yes, mashing up a few of these to make your own hair mask is a great deep-conditioning treatment for the hair, but eating avocados provides you hair with much more than just moisture. Avocados are rich in Vitamins A, D, and the E, all of which help make the hair soft, shiny, and thick-feeling. They are also a great way to incorporate many trace minerals essential to health but difficult to find such as copper, zinc, and magnesium that see to everything from stronger and more malleable hair for greater styling capabilities to richer-looking, shinier color.
