One the most delightful things for me to do on La Petite Rose is to share a few tips and tricks that I've come across or have discovered recently that just make the process of doing makeup or a haircare and skincare routine easier and all the more enjoyable. Today, I thought I'd pass on one tip for each.

Store Your Liquid and Cream Makeup Items Upside Down: Cream and liquid cosmetics definitely have become more of mainstay in my my personal makeup rotation as of late. I'm loving the dewy effects of a cream blush, and there's also nothing quite like a perfectly executed cat flick done with a liquid eyeliner. The downside to these products and any other cream or liquid makeup item is that they tend to dry out and dry out quickly often well before the it can be used up even most of the way and long before it would otherwise expire. A great trick for remedying this is to simply store your cream and liquid makeup containers upside down. to prevent the products from settling or getting stuck in their packaging and keep their formulas as fresh and pliable as possible. Nowhere is this more helpful than with a liquid liner pen as it keeps the felt or brush tip full with a constant flow of product making it effortless to have the product on the applicator the minute you start to make the line, but similar logic also helps to keep potted cream blushes and concealers spongey and easy-to-glide on the finger when you got to pat the product on your skin.

Steam In Between Each Step in Your Skincare: This tip came from a friend's takeaway from a professional facial she got where the facialist steamed her skin for up to 30 mins before cleansing and applying treatments. The steam really helps to expand the pores make them easier to clean more deeply and to receive all the active ingredients and moisturizers you put on top. By no means, however, do you have to wait for 30 mins in between each product you put on. Instead, simply run a warm damp cloth over your face before applying cleanser, rinse that off then put the warm damp cloth over your face again before applying toner or serum and so on. Depending on your preferences and however many products you use, you can add as many (or as little) steaming sessions between each product as you want. especially for the products you REALLY want to work on the deepest possible layers of skin. Plus, it just feels nice to have a spa day or night every once in awhile at home.

Apply Oil or Conditioning Spray to the Ends of Your Hair BEFORE You Shampoo: If your hair is dry or prone to breakage (or, if you're like me, both), you might benefit from a light spritz of conditioning spray or a slight dab of oil into the ends of the hair prior to shampooing. The act of massaging shampoo into our hair requires a lot of pulling on the hair, and especially if your hair is more fragile, even the physical contact needed to wash your hair can sometimes pull out a few extra strands than what would naturally come out as a result of normal hair shedding. But putting some lightweight conditioning or detangling spray or some lightweight, fast-absorbing hair oil and letting it quickly soak in will help both soften and strengthen the hair a bit before you hit it with the water and start shampooing. For me, it is a speedy addition to my haircare, and since incorporating it, I have half or less of the mid-washing hair breakage than I used to.

Like hearing a favorite song on the radio or enjoying a piece of chocolate in the middle of the day, sometimes it really is the small things in life that just make everything better, easier, and more fun. These three tips have proven themselves to be like this in my beauty loving life as of late, and the moment I come across more of these quick tips, I will be more than glad to share them with you as always!
