NOTE: As of late 2019/early 2020, the name of this product has been changed to All-purpose Rescue Cream instead of the Restore Nourishing Face and Body Cream. I have continued to use the product since the name change, and from my experience, the formula and experience of the product has not changed and all my opinions are the same as expressed in this review, and all purchasing, sizing and pricing info and estimates are also current.
In February of this year,I began trying a new face cream from the new-ish hair and skincare brand Tweak’d by Nature when I saw the products launch on air on QVC. The haircare products I bought are still undergoing my testing and will be reported on at a later time, but now the time has come for me to write about their Nourishing Face and Body Cream.
It might seem strange, but the thing that first drew me in to trying this product was its whopping 5.45 oz size, which is about FOUR times as large of any other face cream I've ever tried. But as I delved further into product claims and its ingredients, I became more and more intrigued. Tweak’d by Nature is an all-natural, largely wildcrafted, sustainably-sourced beauty company that seems to make great and innovative use of staple ingredients of the Green Beauty world such as argan oil, honey, green tea,and sunflower seed oil, while combining them with ingredients that, are entirely new to me from all parts of the globe. Some of these new ingredients by name are tigernut extract, which is said to help fortify the dermis and epimedium, a flower native to Japan, China, and South Korea known to have a firming effect on the skin. These are just two of many.
This product is not just about clean and exotic-sounding natural ingredients, though. It truly is one of the most extraordinary moisturizers I have tried. A little bit goes a super long way with this cream. but at the same time, I don't think you could ever layer too much as it totally quenches thirsty skin in an instant. I remember, even in my first use, my lines of dehydration were v smoothed out and flaky patches seemed to vanish. I actually felt like my face has been given a bit of a glow, probably largely from the large does of honey contained in the formula.
Over months of using it twice daily, I have found the clarity and smoothness of my skin has just gotten consistently better. If a random red or dry patch does show up again, rubbing just the teeniest dab of this over the top of it soothes it immediately, and it usually goes away after only a few consecutive, concentrated applications. To my relief, though, for all these wonderful moisturizing and moisture-bindng qualities, this cream never feels heavy or like it will clog my pores. It also layers beautifully with face oils without pilling and creates an even more powerfully moisturizing emulsion day and night.
Though I do not wear liquid foundation regularly, I would trust that this cream would layer well, even under a full coverage foundation. It sinks in very well and quickly and feels very weightless on the face only seconds after applying. It even claims that it can double as a primer, smoothing out the canvas before base makeup would be applied and refining the appearance of pores.
In addition to moisturizing the face, this gentle formula is also approved for use around the eye and works also as a firming neck cream and all-over body moisturizer too. It's light, all-natural honey, amber, and vanilla scent is truly decadent. In fact, I wish Tweak'd would formulate a perfume in this fragrance. That's how much I enjoy it.
Currently, on Tweak'd by Nature's official website Tweak-d.com, one jar 5.45 oz jar retails for $35, however, I’ve found on this product is on QVC for $35 for a duo of two full-sized jars. That said, though this is a long-term offer, prices and configurations of products change often on QVC, so these numbers could be subject to change.
To all my fellow dry-skinned people, and even if you are normal to combination, I highly recommend this luscious moisturizing treat for both the face and body, especially as the cold chill of autumn and winter fall upon us. It has truly changed the look, feel, and balance of my skin like no other moisturizer to date.
