We all know the importance of eating our green veggies, and many people swear by the added benefits of juicing all those goodly greens together. But what if you could put a green juice on your face and feed your skin all the nutrients that way? Well, the skincare brand Youth to The People has provided us just that with their Superfood Air-Whi[Moisturizer.
Though packaged in a tub like the thickest of, emollient night creams would be, this cream is truly the lightest-textured moisturizer I have every used and feels like the airiest of whipped cream. This lightweight texture is largely do to its high concentration of hyaluronic acid-- a molecule that amps up the skin's water content by both retaining its water and attracting more to it. This moisturizer absorbs into the skin instantly and feels so refreshing and cooling. It is definitely the skincare equivalent of drinking a tall glass of ice water on a hot summer day. Yet the skin both looks and feels instantly plumper and is also given a bit of extra immediate radiance due to the hydration boost. Both this immediate absorption and radiance also make this cream an excellent choice to wear under makeup.
Though this cream feels so wispy and fresh, it is certainly no lightweight when it comes to skin benefits. Like the green juice it is modeled after, this cream is loaded with Vitamin A -rich foods like spinach and kale, alphalpha, all aiding with cell turnover, skin firming, and, as some research suggests, pore refining and clarifying. The green tea in this formula along with the Vitamin C (L-ascorbic infuses the skin with a lot of anti-oxidants for a stronger barrier and a more of a renewed glow, The chamomile extract in here also works as a great anti-inflammatory and because of that and also the green pigments from the vegetable extracts in here, this cream really does help to soothe away any redness in my skin whenever I use it and keeps it calm throughout the day.
I would definitely say that this cream is a perfect choice for those with oily or acne-prone skin because it is both so calming and nutrient-dense for the skin but with no heavy or filmy finish whatsoever. Even so, as someone with very dry skin, I still can use this product with great effectiveness, It is an awesome choice for me in the summer months as a cooling moisturizer and also it works very well as an extra layer of hydration and nutrients for my skin before adding a richer, more occlusive cream over the top to lock it in all day. I almost think of it as a more cost-effective and less sticky-feeling alternative to a serum when using it in this way and would also recommend using it like this for people with more mature skin who also want an extra shot of radiance and skin-supporting ingredients.
If you are looking for a powerhouse of ingredients cooked into one easy-to-use , cleanly-formulated product with a weightless feel but has all the goodness going in, I highly recommend giving the Youth to the People Superfood Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizer a chance. A whopping 2 oz jar currently sells for $48 USD at most standalone Sephora stores and Sephora.com/
