As you may or may not be able to tell from reading La Petite Rose, among my absolute favorite products to try, test, and review is perfume. Fragrance is truly the singular beauty item which lifts my mood the most, transforming me into a different version of myself or a whole new character altogether and transporting me to a whole other time and place. One of the places I enjoying traveling to the most in my olfactory, fragrance-inspired journeys is the forest, and one of the best and most beautiful fragrances I've tried recently that has brought me their is Pacifica Enchanted Forest.

Pacifica is a favorite beauty brand of mine, especially for skincare, but their 100% natural, made from essential oils-- fragrances are also a real gem. One of their newer creations, Enchanted Forest, has risen to the top of that list. Right from from the very start, you get a blast of fresh peppery, sweet and tart juniper berries nestled on a bed of dense musky patchouil. which evokes the feeling of a rainwashed forest floor to perfection. For it being such a foresty fragrance, there is not an over abundance of actual wood smells here, though cedarwood and sandalwood are listed in the notes. I smell them in the base of the fragrance, and they become more apparent as the scent dries on my skin, especially just before the fragrance fades. However, the wood tones remain subtle, so if you like earthy fragrance but not necessarily a woodsy one, Enchanted Woods would be an excellent choice.

The middle part of this scent, however, is what is especially interesting filled with pop ups of different scent surprises. Here and there, wafts of smoky vetiver blow in and out, bringing with them occasional bursts of subtle bright, lemony bergamot and faint hints of grassy floral geranium. If I would have wished any other note to be more consistent within this fragrance that it is, I would have enjoyed more geranium note because I love a beautiful floral tone atop an dark and earthy base of a fragrance Overall, though, on my skin this fragrance from start to end is largely a gorgeous, earthy dance between the fizzy fresh juniper berries and the dusky patchouli and the other botanical, floral, and fruity notes pop up only on occasion.

As it is, Enchanted Woods is still a luscious, grounding, and relaxing and very simple and straightforward in its beauty. As is often with patchouli fragrance, Enchanted Woods is very calming to me and I could see this scent appealing to any gender and for many occasions and for any time of year, although because I live in a more humid climate, this may not be my first choice on a hot summer day, but, as with a lot of things in fragrance, that comes down to personal preference.

Like many natural-based fragrances, Pacifica does not use synthetic chemical extenders in any of their perfumes, so you may find that this fragrance wears more closely to the skin and does not push out as much from you as a more traditionally-produced perfume. and it also may or may not last as long depending on your body chemistry. For me, I get about four hours max of wear out of this fragrance, which is about the same (but maybe slightly longer) than the other fragrances from Pacifica that I have tried. That said, I never mind reapplying and they have convenient rollerballs that are perfect for on-the-go touch-ups as needed.

So if you are looking to take a stroll through the forest to settle the mind and ground the body, consider giving Pacifica Enchanted Woods a try. Currently, a 1 oz bottle retails for $22 USD, and a 0.33 oz rollerball retails for $12 USD, making this, along with any other fragrance in Pacifica's line, a great, affordable option if you are wanting to experiment with a variety of more natural-based fragrances. I highly recommend
