Several of my product review posts have centered around the my favorite items from the brand Glossier, and for good reason. They are truly one of my most trusted brands of the beauty world of any kind, size, or price point. One of my most cherished picks from the line is the Lash Slick mascara.
The Lash Slick mascara is primarily a lengthening formula and contains tiny, tiny fibers dispersed throughout creating both a longer and more fluttery effect to your natural lashes. It is sort of like getting a teeny-tiny lash extension with each use without the time, cost, or long-term side effects of having actual extension put in. As someone who appreciates the look of extra flirty, long eyelashes, but would never be brave enough to even try extensions this is perfect. Among its ingredients is a vegan form of biotin, which strengthens and condition the lashes and can help increase their growth rate overtime.
In addition to the elongating effect I also really love how it seems to lift the lashes for a more more bright-eyed and awake appearance. Though the brush is straight, there are curling and curving properties to the formula as well. The brush itself, however, is very cleverly made with a cone-shaped design and gradually tiered and tapered bristles that decrease in size as they near the tip. This graduated spacing of all the bristles really helps you catch all the lashes across the lashline and separate them to minimize the risk of clumping. In fact, I have used up to four tubes of Lash Slick, and it has never once clumped on me. Additionally, both the shape of the brush and its resistance to clumping, Lash Slick is a great choice to use on the lower lashes too to stretch and separate them.
The pigments in this mascara are richly black and are further enhanced by polymers derived from beeswax to give the lashes extra shine and help to make the black shade appear much less stark and much more seamless to the look of the lashes. . Another benefit to these polymers is that they assist the fibers in the mascara to better adhere to the lashes so there is no risk of fallout while keeping the mascara in place and smudge-free. That said, these polymers do not add any feeling of stickiness or weight to the lashes at all. As counterintuitive as it may seem, this is one of the softest, most lightweight formulas I have ever used. One small downside to the polymers is that while they don't weigh down the lashes, they can make the mascara trickier to remove at the end of the day, but it will easily come off by slowly rubbing it with warm water to work through the water-resistant (but not entirely waterproof) formula.
If you are in the market for a new mascara and want to try one that gives great length and curve to the lashes and contains many lash-loving ingredients, I cannot recommend Glossier's Lash Slick highly enough. It is available on Glossier.com for $16 USD. It is truly a wonderful formula and a treat to use.
