It is no secret that I am a lover of Glossier products. However, until just recently, I had not yet tried their iconic bestseller, Boy Brow. I consider myself very much a novice when it comes to brow grooming, shaping, and styling, but I have been wanting to get into playing up my brows a bit more. Graciously, a friend of mine sent me a Boy Brow to try, and let me just say, I cannot be more pleased.

Originally inspired by a man's hair pomade, Boy Brow promises to give lasting hold and and fluffiness to brow hairs and set them in a way that is not stiff or sticky. Rarely does a product deliver exactly as it claims and does so with such ease of use. Even for someone not experienced at all with defining the brows, I was able to shape and darken them flawlessly for the first time in only about 10 seconds each. The liquid is light but creamy when you first swipe it on but is neither too thick nor runny at all. This was a relief to me as I was sure that with my first attempt at using a liquid brow product would result in a total mess, but this was not the case at all. And I have since learned, too, that if you do get a bit out of line with the pomade it does clean up neatly with just a touch of a cotton bud with no worry. But I am so glad to say that this product is virtually mistake-proof and is an excellent choice for brow beginners!

Part of what makes this product so simple and pleasurable to use is the tiny, little comb style brush on the wand. At first glance, it may seem like the brush won't do much in depositing product to the brows, but it does and does it with such control and precision. You can get to every single little brow hair (even ones your didn't know you had) or even use the brush to create hair-like strokes to mimic and then blend into your natural brow hair with little effort.

The effect is always believable, and however much or little of the gel you apply to your hairs or onto your skin, it is always comfortable to wear without any hint of stickiness or crunchiness. In fact. I was impressed to learn that there are actual hair conditioning ingredients in the formula that not only provide softness and a flexibility to the hold but also help to create fluffier and also help to strengthen and moisturize the hair. These ingredients range from light doses of softening beeswax, collagen, and nourishing oleic acids.

I am finding I am using Boy Brow most every day. It provides the perfect finisher for a full-on eye look with shadow, liner, and mascara, and is even great with no other makeup just to add a quick "something" to the face to help me feel more put-together. I think this product could slot effortlessly into anyone's makeup style and routine. It is available in Clear, Blond, Black, Brown, and most recently for those with red or strong red tones within their hair, Auburn. I use the shade Blond, and from using it and seeing the brown shade on other people in person, I can say that I am super impressed by how ashy and versatile the tones are to cover a wide range of haircolors within each shade. So no matter who you are, it is very easy to find the shade, if not more than one, that can work for you. Currently, you can find the Boy Brow for $16 USD on Glossier.com.
