Certain skincare products are just as much treats for the senses as they are treatments for the skin. This is certainly true for my experience using GlamGlow BerryGlow. I was encouraged to try this product by my best friend and sister (who was also the one who got me to try the powerhouse Supermud also by GlamGlow), and she once again could not have given a better recommendation. A soothing, yummy treat for any skin, in any condition.

BerryGlow's primary claim to fame is its inclusion of lactobacillus ferment-- a probiotic form of bacteria aimed at strengthening the skin barrier. Probiotics in skincare have been shown to help the skin not only improve its moisture retention but also become more resistant to buildup and to acne-causing bacteria and general inflammation. These effects are definitely results to be evaluated in the long-term after continued use . But in the short-term I can truly say that this mask gives me the softest, most glowing and smooth skin of any mask I've tried, especially for it not being exfoliating or resurfacing in anyway. I like those masks too and have several favorites, some of which I have written about here on La Petite Rose, but there are times when I feel like my dry skin could use a glow boost but maybe does not need or want so much active exfoliation whether through acids or manual stimulation. This is where BerryGlow truly comes in handy.

The mask itself is a thin, watery yet still vicious cream that feels soft and refreshing. The moment it touches my skin, I can almost feel my skin breath a sigh of relief as it drinks it in. Dry patches are comforted throbbing pimples have also mellowed, and upon rinsing, I notice my skin looking much brighter and plumper. Again, it is like the benefits of exfoliation but without any grit or stinging sensation on the skin, which when my skin is feeling particularly irritated or going through a rough breakout or environmental change, or really anything is upsetting it, I'm finding more and more this is the kind of product it craves. For example. when I have a breakout, even if my first instinct may be to pour an exfoliating acid toner onto every blemish and then try to zap it further with a blend of potent, astringent oils, my skin is much happier long-term, and even quicker to heal most of the time, when calmed back into balance with a refreshing, moisturizing product such as this. For this reason, I would totally recommend this mask to anyone who has overdone it with a lot of skincare products to recover or for those with really sensitive skin on the whole who may not have had much success with resurfacing products or who may be afraid to try them, but are looking for a good reset.

Make no mistake, though, BerryGlow does have a lot to offer in the way of ingredients in its myriad of berry extracts. Cranberries, blueberries, and goji berries (what GlamGlow calls their Superberry blend) are a trio of potent antioxidant givers that make the skin glowing on the outside and firmer and more resilient to internal and external stress and stimuli. They also give the mask a mild but totally delicious scent that makes this a unique but fun spa experience for sure. And the best part is, it is an experience that can keep on giving, even after the directed, 10-minute time length, since you don't need to rinse it off (though you can, of course), but many times I have been known to apply a layer of this mask and let it soak in overnight as a treatment and my skin looks, and most of all feels like satin. I could not be more pleased!

Whether you are looking for a new treat for a weekend at home or if your skin is needing some more serious calming, I totally think GlamGlow's BerryGlow mask could have a place in anyone's beauty cabinet and may become a firm favorite. You can find it at Sephora in certain stores and online and on GlamGlow's website for $50 USD for a full-sized 2.5 oz jar.
