As someone with very sensitive skin, Bareminerals is one of my most preferred brand for base makeup products. Though they have since innovated many liquid, cream, and pressed powder formulations, their original, loose mineral powder products remain some of the best of the best. My choice among them all is there multi-tasking concealer.
There is truly no better adjective to describe this product other than multi-taking. This lightweight, breathable powder wafts over the face like a dream and can do everything from provide all over skintone evening to concentrated spot coverage to cancelling the look of undereye circles, and being a lovely lightweight setting powder for days when I wear heavier liquid foundation. Because this is made to be a concealer and not a foundation, however, the pigment deposits in this powder are even denser than that in the loose mineral foundation from Bareminerals, meaning that even when worn as an all-over base, a little will go an extremely long way. One gentle shake of the sifter into the lid usually gives me about a half teaspoon size of product and that is all I need throughout the day for my whole face and single blemishes or patches of acne will usually be covered by far less. All this said, if you feel you want more layers, this product builds easily and effectively upon itself, adding more coverage but with no cakiness whatsoever. For this being a powder product, I am shocked to say this, and this is the only powder product I've used as a base that has never turned cakey on me. I'm not sure how Bareminerals has accomplished this, but they certainly have.
Though it only comes in 5 shades, each of them will suit a wide range of skin tones and undertones, so finding a shade that will work for you will likely be simpler than it may seem Most people I know who have used this concealer can easily fall into two shades, and the natural pigments meld seamlessly with the natural highs and lows of one's skintone flawlessly creating a very smooth and natural-looking canvas that is not at all flat or dry or overly matte-looking, even on someone with dry skin. All you will have is the look of fresh skin that looks exactly like your skin without a visible trace of makeup.
But this product's benefits go far beyond its ability to perfect the skintone. The Earth-derived minerals in the formula such as zinc and magnesium have also been shown to be powerful acne-fighters and healers as well, so as you are using the product to conceal a breakout, you are also helping it to calm down and clear up I've even worn it overnight over pimples before and have noticed that both the swelling and the redness has gone down significantly by morning. Particularly for under-the-skin cystic acne, this product really helps to reduce the throbbing and make the skin comfortable again. Additionally, these same minerals, particularly the zinc, provide a natural, physical sunblock rated at an SPF 20. With its breathable feel and SPF combined, it an ideal choice to wear outside on a short jaunt on a hot sunny day.
No matter how you integrate the Bareminerals Multi-Tasking Concealer into your beauty regimen. it is likely to become a staple in your arsenal to finish any look and address any concern. Currently, this product sells for $21 USD and can be found on the Bareminerals website and standalone boutiques, Ulta, and on QVC,com.
