The of new products and beauty innovations has never been just a girl's game. and more and more men are jumping on the bandwagon. In fact, many beauty insiders cite men's skincare, grooming, and self-care as being one of the fastest-growing branches of the industry. Many guys, though, while maybe wanting to participate in aesthetics, still desire only the basics-- the most functional of products and most easiest of routines. So today, I thought I'd share my take on the types of products that are great for any man in your life.

A Body Wash and Shampoo in One: Above most anything, guys will desire products that are fast and effective, so selecting a product for them that has multiple functions is always a good rule of thumb. There is no better place for this than a shower product. In fact, the entire concept of a 2-in-1 shampoo first came about in the world of men's grooming. Nowadays, formulas for men have further involved to include skin softening agents such as shea butter and nourishing oils, making the products usable on the body and even hydrating enough to not have to follow up with a body moisturizer post-shower, so he can get in and out the door and on with life in no time. A great option for this type of product is the Jack Black All-Over Wash, which is rich with moisturizers as well as deep-cleaning and hydrating sea kelp extract for a fresh, soft feel anywhere it's used. As a bonus comes in sizes up to 33 oz and as a wonderful herbal-citrus scent, so if you only want to keep one product in your shower, everyone can enjoy the scent and have enough product to go around.

Items With Tea Tree Oil: Though good skincare ingredients are good skincare ingredients regardless of who is using them, tea tree oil is an excellent ingredient to watch out for when choosing products for a man. This minty, clean-smelling oil is not only balancing (usually neither too heavy nor too astringent when used in moderation for any skin type) and also a great pimple fighter, tea tree oil is also great at preventing ingrown hairs and soothing inflammation. This makes it a super effective ingredient for shave creams and after shave balms or to put in DIY versions of the same things. And what works on his beard will also work for soothing the skin post-hair removal for anywhere for everyone.

Lightweight SPF with Moisturizing Capabilities and Actives: As I've said, when getting guys products to use, simplicity is often the biggest key. So having a multi-functioning moisturizer with sun protection is a great choice, and will also be less fussy and feel lighter-feeling for him then layering multiple serums and moisturizers. A good example of this one-stop-shop final layering product is the Moisturizing AM lotion by Cerave. While not specifically billed as a men's product it is often highly-regarded in men's magazine as a breathable SPF 30 moisturizer that has time-released moisture technology to not feel heavy at first but keep the skin soft and supple all day long. With the inclusion of niacinamide and hyaluronic acid, the skin is also receiving long-term benefits of vitamins, toning, and water boost to keep the skin clear and also help to stave off and reduce signs of aging. Best of all, the lotion is generally good for sensitive skin and is totally fragrance-free, which makes it a workable option to try for everyone.

Of course, every man's needs and preferences will be different, and how involved they choose to make their self-care rituals will be totally up to them. These kinds of products, however, are great to meet anyone with at the starting gate.
