Hi friends,

I hope this message finds everyone with friends, family, and, if you are in America, celebrating Thanksgiving with love and peace. More pre-Holiday and Christmas gift inspiration posts will be coming starting next week. But in the spirit of this day, I thought i would share with you one of my favorite poems and one that was also allegedly a favorite of one my favorite beauty icon's of all time, Audrey Hepburn.

Time-Tested Beauty Tips by Sam Levenson (published in his 1973 book, One Era and Out the Other)

For attractive lips, speak words of kindness.

For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.

For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.

For beautiful hair, let a child run his or her fingers through it each day.

For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone.

People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed; never throw anyone out.

Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you’ll find one at the end of each of your arms.

As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself, and the other for helping others.

The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides.

The beauty of a woman is not in a mole, but the true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows, and the beauty of a woman with passing years only grows!

These words apply to every single reader and future reader of this blog. Thank you so much for your time every week in reading La Petite Rose and for all your kindness and support. Happy Thanksgiving and love to all!
