Awhile back, I did a post highlighting some of my favorite and most admired beauty brands that are known for being active with charitable causes. But nowhere is the connection between beauty products and philanthropy more prevalent than in the Green, clean, natural-based beauty market. Here are three brands in that vein that are doing a lot of "beauty good".

Thrive Causmetics: As you may be able to tell from their branding, Thrive Causemetics is chief among the brands that takes giving to a whole other level. There are currently three different causes featured on their website as established charity partners with Thrive that receive donations from the company and part of your payment for each makeup or skincare item you buy, including but not limited to their incredibly popular Liquid Lash Extentions Mascara.

At this time, they a re working with the National Breast Cancer Foundation, giving not only money to help support efforts in early detection but also their products to those undergoing treatment and also hosting makeover events at the foundation's Texas headquarters. They also have partnered with the Foundation for Women Warriors, which helps women in the military transition back into civilian life after serving helping them find high-quality jobs, and they also work with UMOM, a women's abuse shelter and therapy program located in Phoenix, Arizona.

Earthwise Beauty: If you have been reading La Petite Rose recently, you know I have fallen head over heels for so many products from Earthwise Beauty. But not only is this brand focused on providing exquisitely-crafted organic skincare, using sustainably farmed ingredients, it is also committing to preserving natural habitats and wildlife across the globe , most especially the Amazon Rainforest where many carefully-selected ingredients in the brand's products are found. Every quarter of the year, Earthwise chooses a different charity to donate to animal and environmental causes. You can also contribute to the quarterly donation by typing in the code FortheWorldsForests every time you make a purchase on the site. This will give you 10% off your order (excluding shipping costs) and then Earthwise will donate 10% of your remaining total to the charity they are spotlighting that quarter. Organizations they have worked with in the past include The Orangutan Project, which seeks to preserve jungle habitats of orangutans and other primates from the overharvesting in the palm oil industry and also the Amazon Forest fund, which provide resources to the local people living in the Amazon Forest region recover from the effects of natural disasters, deforestation, and fires in the region while also helping to replenish and protect the land space.

Pour Le Monde: Taking it's name from the French for "for the world" Pour Le Monde is a small, indie all- natural perfumerie that has created three different perfumes, the sales of each contributing to a different charitable cause. The scent Empowered is a fresh green woodsy scent with notes of patchouli, basil, mint, and orange blossom that supports Guiding Eyes for the Blind, an organization that helps provide and match service dogs to blind people. Envision-- my personal favorite-- is a floral musk of lavender, geranium, vanilla, frankincense and patchouli, having proceeds go to the National MS Society, an organization focused on researching a cure for multiple sclerosis. And finally, there is Together, a light white floral of jasmine and freesia that supports the Gilda's Club and the Cancer Support Community, two organizations fostering support and connection among cancer patients and survivors. I really love the variety of causes this brand supports, and how all three scents are so different that you can choose based either your scent preference and contribute to a worthy cause, or choose the cause the resonates the most with you and still end up with a lovely, light, pretty scent to enjoy.

Though we all may love makeup, skincare, and other beauty products from any brand, it is sometimes nice to know when the choices we make can also benefit the people and the world around us. And I'm glad to share with you some brands that make this their mission.
