Beauty Buzz Review: Wayne Goss YouTube Channel

I was reminded recently how much I enjoy the beauty YouTube channel of Wayne Goss. Wayne is a UK-based professional makeup artist and business owner who designs and sells his own line of highly-touted makeup brushes. His videos are a mix of makeup tips and tricks, industry insights, and product reviews. His makeup application technique videos cover virtually every style or form of makeup artistry and how to avoid many common mistakes. In his product reviews, he frequently goes in depth as to why formulations and ingredients work the way that they do, both the good and the bad and what a professional makeup artist looks for in a product to do their best work. His delivery is very factual but always approachable and with a cheeky sense of humor.

One of my favorite things about Wayne's channel is how it is a hub for all kinds of quick makeup tips that are especially great for beginners with makeup. He is very good at explaining, for example, why certain application techniques will work best for certain face shapes and which will be less flattering or why many of the looks we see in photographs of celebrities in magazines or on the red carpet don’t always translate as well into real life. That said, he always provides solutions for how to adapt these sought-after looks to suit everyday situations.

One of the most helpful videos that Wayne has made so far for me has been his video "How to Find the Perfect Eyeliner Shape for Your Eye Shape". In this video,he quickly covers all types of eye shapes, how to determine which one you have, and discover which methods of applying eyeliner will be the easiest to do and suit you. Overall, Wayne's content offers excellent advice in how to expand on those basics to create the best version of any look to enhance our own unique beauty.

No matter your skill level, Wayne's videos are wonderful tools to help you develop and refine our makeup applications. But as he often says in his videos, "it's just makeup",reminding us to never take ourselves or our makeup techniques too seriously. For all his technical information about the artistry of makeup, his videos always open my eyes to new ideas and the fun of experimentation.
