3 Beauty Resolutions for 2023

It is the start of the New Year, a time to re-enliven ourselves and set new goals. While I am not too into making grand New Year's resolutions, I do like to sit and have a think about where I might like to take my beauty loving hobby in the coming year and, therefore, what all things we could be talking about on La Petite Rose.

Try More Eco-friendly Perfume: The world of Green Beauty and more natural-based beauty has been a chief interest of mine for years as has the world of fine fragrance. This year, I am really keen on combining the two and finding not just new scent loves but also ones that are cleaner for the air around us and that are good for my sinuses and skin. Due to some internal changes going on with my body, I have become more sensitive to synthetic scents and overly strong scents in general, so I think it is time for a bit of a shake-up.

Wear Blush More Regularly: For whatever reason, blush is often a neglected part of my makeup routine. I focus mostly on a bold lip nowadays and sometimes revisit a classic charcoal smoky eye. But I am finding that my cheeks go unpainted more often than not. There is nothing wrong with this, but when I do but on blush, I feel not only do I look a bit fresher but adding the (usually) berry-tinted or pinky color to my cheeks also lifts my mood. So I will be using up and also looking into trying new blushes and also possibly contour and highlighting products as we get more into 2023.

Adopt a One In, One Out Policy: As much as I want to try new products this year and always, I really want to adopt more of a one product in, one product out philosophy. I am usually pretty good at using up the items I have bought or that have been given to me as gifts, or else I pass them on to friends and family. However, i do find I fall into the trap sometimes of having MULTIPLE cleansers open at a time, for example, to work my way through. Even if the products usually get completely used up, I'd rather focus on one product at a time before buying more. This mainly is more of a budgetary concern, but it also helps my vanity stay clearer and keeps my routines more simple, which are things I am looking to emphasize more.

These are my top three beauty-centric goals for 2023. This is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg, though, and I cannot wait to see what 2023 may hold for content and beauty ventures for this blog. Have a great year, everyone!
